Auslander

Lewis Kelley

Lewis Kelley is a veteran of the United States Army, a former collegiate football and track athlete, and a longtime coach.  He lives in Colorado with his wife and three children.

“I felt strongly about writing this story because I wanted to honor African American soldiers of the World War II era and all of the people who came together at that crucial juncture in human history. The characters in Auslander come from many countries and observe many faiths, yet they are linked to each other exactly as real people are connected in today’s situations. Auslander was written to entertain and enlighten, but especially to highlight the universal plights of humanity and the emotions that exist in all people. My book emphasizes the very real struggles and relevance of a people whose contributions to the past and present often remain unappreciated and frequently are unknown to the world.”
