Excerpt A:
After the hard-core national news finished the story, I was so
intrigued by this science anomaly that I switched over to the Science
Channel, where an astronomer was stating that he saw the pictures
Voyager was sending back, and what it was showing was not only the
lack of our solar system and the Oort cloud but it was showing the
constellations behind us. In other words, it was a picture of space as
if our planets and sun were not even there. Once the Oort cloud was
entered, all the stars on the other side of us, which Voyager should
not be able to see because our solar system would be in the way, were
clear and visible.
Excerpt B:
I was scared and disoriented, trying to recall my last thoughts and remembering I had just went to sleep. A dream would fit, but of all my dreams, I never had one so detailed or realistic. The smell of the fire and the food were obvious. The brilliant colors of the expensive paintings were vibrant. If it was a dream, it was of a level and quality I had never had before.
Man at Table: Well, it is but isn’t, Thomas.
Me: What?
Man: Your question. Is this a dream?
I shut my eyes and took a deep breath. I have had a freaky last couple days, and this is just more of the same. So when I opened my eyes, it will all be gone, and if it has not, I am going to play it cool and go with it.
I opened my eyes to see the room had changed to a living room area. Same fireplace and same person and what appeared to be the same awesome mansion.
